Our Christmas time

We had a great Christmas time. My mom was able to be with us, which was extra helpful. It was nice being home with the family and enjoying our new Porter. Here are some pictures for you to enjoy. :)

PORTER NELSON DENNIS...

The Dennis Family

We went in on Thursday night at 10:00pm (yeah, I know, late!) to get started to be induced. I have to get 4 hours of antibiotics from being Group B strep positive (to avoid what happened when Kylie was born) so they got me started on that at about 12:30 in the morning. I went into contractions on my own at about 3:00am (so, I would have had him that day anyways) and they continued with the Pitocin at about 4:30am. I went in to the hospital being dilated at a 4, and the next time they checked me I was at a 10. I had to wait for the doctor to get there, then I pushed for less than 10 minutes and Porter Nelson Dennis arrived. He came at 8:47am on Friday morning, the 19th. He weighed 7 lbs. 14 oz., height 18 1/2 inches (although we don't think they stretched him out like normal...Kylie and Peyton were both 3 inches longer). :) Everything was very healthy. I am feeling fine, just normal aches and pains of just having a baby. I get spurts of energy, which is great, and it is so nice having my mom here to help out, especially with Kylie and Peyton. I think now, what in the world did I do when Kylie was born and I had no one else to look after.

Kylie and Peyton sure love Porter. They love to hold him. Kylie asks about every other minute if she can hold him. Peyton follows right after. Our whole family is doing great and we are glad that Porter has joined us.

Gingerbread houses and baby update

The other day we went to our friends house and made gingerbread houses with all the kiddos. It was lots of fun. Kylie and Peyton loved eating all the candy as they went. They love looking at them everyday and talking about their gingerbread houses.

This is their friend, Bella. Kylie and Bella are dressed up as princesses and Peyton said he was the prince.

As for the update, I am doing fine. The baby is moving like crazy and kicks all the time. I feel EVERYTHING with this one. About a month ago I would have told you I was definitely going to have this baby way early with all the contractions I was having, but things seem to have slowed down...well, for a bit. I am scheduled to be induced a week from today (Friday) if I haven't gone into labor before then. It was getting me all nervous and scared before, but after having lots of time to think about it, I think I am about ready for this baby to come. Kylie and Peyton are so excited. They love talking to Porter (we think that is what we will name him...sorry, no Nicholas or Klaus for all those Christmas fans). They put their head down by my belly and talk to him. It's cute.

We are all ready for Christmas, just doing a few last minute things. We had to be way prepared this year. Wish us luck with everything to come!

The rest of November

Well, we are back from a nice long trip from Utah. But I haven't posted in a long time. So....here are random things that we have done for the rest of the month of November.

One of the days when the kids and I went to the park, I was sitting on a bench just letting the kids play. Then all of a sudden I hear a loud THUD and Peyton crying. He was at the top of a ladder thing at the top of the highest part in the park and lost his footing and fell straight on his back. He was bleeding out of his mouth, scrapes on his back, and couldn’t move. I was so scared he broke something. After a long time of helping him and Chris coming over, he was back to running around (although a little slower then) and playing again. We are so lucky nothing happened. I am in for it with all these scares at playgrounds through the years!

Chris flew (luckily the work paid for him) to a work party in California. I was too far along in the pregnancy and couldn’t go, but Chris had a fun time eating, chatting, and playing pool. I didn’t mind too much not going because I would have to explain myself to a billion people, that yes, this is going to be my third child, and pretend to know people. :)

We got to take a much deserved long trip to Utah for Thanksgiving. Instead of only being able to spend a day or two at each family’s house we were able to spend 4 or so days at each place. We stayed the first part at the Dennis’. They have these dress-up costumes and Peyton never wanted to take off his cow costume (which was actually a 101 Dalmatian) and Kylie was Snow White. Chris and I were able to go on a long date and go to the Provo Temple. We were actually the witness couple (although they didn’t realize I was pregnant at first when they asked us), but it was real nice being there together. We also got to go out to eat, shop, and drive in a topless convertible, which neither of us have done before (thanks, Brad). Grandma and Grandpa took the kids to a dinosaur museum and they had a lot of fun. We did lots of different things like go to Chuck-E-Cheese (while the boys watched the U/BYU football game), saw the new Twilight movie, and played at the park…of course Kylie and Peyton were the only kids there, but being bundled in their coats and sweats. It was great to be there with the Dennis’ and hang out with the family.

Then we got to go be with my Mom and Dad, Becky’s family, Matt’s family, and Sam’s family. Chris and I got to go on another date, this time to the Jazz game. That was fun and of course they won because we were there. :) Thanksgiving was fun at my cousin's house, the Watson’s. I haven’t seen that side of the family in awhile, so it was nice being there.

Yes, I did the day after Thanksgiving sale bright and early in the morning with Matt and Kristi. Although I didn’t have much to get, I still like doing it and ended up with lots. We got great deals and had fun. The best deal was 2 pairs of boots originally $140 for $27. We were able to visit (Great) Grandma Dennis, and I also visited my friend Jenny Sperry. Jenny is due with a baby girl only a week before me, so it was fun to see her and chat. Chris, Kylie, Peyton, and I went to Temple Square which was fun. Kylie and Peyton both liked seeing baby Jesus the best. They cried when they had to leave that part. Kylie kept saying she was cold, but of course she was being used to “cold” being in the 60’s at home. Kylie and Peyton had a blast playing with the cousins. It was heaven to them having friends there 24/7. It was just great hanging out with everyone and being together. We loved every minute of our whole trip!!!

We traveled home on my birthday, but celebrated it the next day. I’m now 26. I really enjoyed seeing Kylie and Peyton singing “Happy Birthday” to me. I couldn’t stop smiling for some reason. Thanks Chris and everybody else for a good day.

We had a great November and are going to have an exciting December. Only a couple weeks away from D-day. I'm excited, nervous, and scared all at the same time. Wish us luck!!!

Becky's family visits

Last week, my sister, Becky and her family came to Las Vegas. Andy had a dental conference and the rest of the family decided to come along and visit with my family and Sam's family. It was a lot of fun seeing them for a couple days. Peyton and Kylie went wild with all the boys. I had some Relief Society stuff to do, so I wasn't able to visit with them the whole time, but I'm glad I got to see them for a bit. Here are a few pictures...

Halloween, Halloween, and Halloween

We had our trunk or treat the Saturday before Halloween. Then Kylie had a preschool party the Thursday before Halloween and Peyton was invited, too. That was super fun. They had all sorts of stations to do fun things...pumpkin playdough, cookie decorating, mummy wrapping, popcorn race, storytelling, treasure hunt, pumpkin toss, and more. It was lots of fun for them...and we discovered a real cool park while there. It is real huge and nice. So that was basically their Halloween.

Then on Halloween day we actually went up to St. George. Chris' little brother, Cody, is a senior in high school and his football team was playing at Dixie High for their state football playoffs. We got to see him play and see Chris' family again, but too bad they lost. Afterwards Kylie and Peyton went to a few houses to trick-or-treat. They thought it was great to wear their costumes basically all week long!

They were so excited about their vampire teeth that they got. They liked to hide in the closet to watch each others glow in the dark. I hated taking Peyton's teeth out because all this slobber would follow.

Barbie and Superman trick or treating. Everybody thought they were so cute they would give them handfuls of candy. We only went to about 10 houses, and ended up with about 50 pieces. Oh joy! Well...

We had a fun Halloween, although I am glad it is over. The kids sure enjoyed dressing up. And they will continue to dress in their costumes ALL year. Yeah! ha ha
