Spring Break Fun 2011

This past week was Spring Break. We had a great time staying here. It was fun with a lot of friends. We love our friends! We made a list of SOME of the fun things we did...the kids helped and wrote a lot of the list! It was great and A TON of fun!

(Sorry, I forgot to take pictures towards the beginning of the week. Lots of pictures at the end) :)

MONDAY:
• Went to the library and stocked up on books and movies (however, within the next 2 days Kylie was already done with all her chapter books and we had to take another quick visit to get more chapter books for her).

  • Bowling at Red Rock with friends

  • Watched our friend Avery
  • • Popsicles
    • Had Family Home Evening

    TUESDAY:
    • Pancakes
    • Went to the
doctor (Peyton needed another shot to fulfill his Kindergarten registration, and we needed to check up on a rash Porter was having...an allergic reaction to some meds).
    • Playdate with the
Comin's (thanks Kiki for helping with the ties!)
    • Baseball at the park

    WEDNESDAY:
    • Went to Chuck E Cheese (The kids each got 10 or so tokens. They chose their games wisely this time :)
    • Looked at toys at Target
    • Mom got scared of a spider (yep. I was changing Porter's diaper and underneath my legs was a huge spider...thankfully it was rubber and a toy, but nonetheless, I still screamed and threw it across the room). :)
    • Peyton and Kylie went to the dentist
    • Porter played at
    Kamryn's
    • Chose toy at Dollar Store
    • Mesa Park with friends

    THURSDAY:
    • Oatmeal
    • Lunch with Dad at
Red Rock (Who knew a random Thursday afternoon at Red Rock would have such a long wait. We waited almost an hour. Madness...but the delicious gelato ice cream at the end made up for it. I go there for the ice cream. Serious.)

    • Tantara Park with friends

    FRIDAY:
    • Gave boy's haircuts
    • Made fort, had popcorn, had Movie Morning...watched Megamind in our fort.

    • Made Easter sugar cookies

Notice Porter's candy cane cookie...he insisted on making one of those instead of all Easter shapes. :)

    • Ran in sprinklers

    • Mesa Park with friends

    SATURDAY:
Family walk/race (We went to an Easter 2 mile walk with the kids. They thought it was a race for them...dressed up in workout clothes, ran a lot of the time, and got red faces... thanks to the same genes as their mom). :)

Don't be fooled by Peyton in the stroller...he was up and running most of the time, and fast, too!

I love the red faces! They worked hard!

    • Played games and got prizes

Nice form, Kylie! Your basketball coach must have taught you well! ;) Papa, you jealous of the snow cone?! :)

    • Easter egg hunt with friends

Porter enjoyed all the treats, snacks, and ice cream! Hey, we see you sneakin' that popcorn!

    Our great friends...The Grundy's and The Armstrong's

    Dennis Family Easter 2011

    • Painted Easter eggs (Yep! This year we painted them instead of dying them. It was a golden egg kit. Pretty cool!)

    • Painted pictures
    • Picnic at Mesa Park

    • Flew kite!

Do you like our list? I love some of the random things, like what we ate for breakfast. :) We had a great week. We hope you did, too!

    HAPPY SPRING BREAK!!!

    Sleepy Porter

The other day, Porter got wiped out! He fell asleep right when he entered the cart. The 2nd picture is him waking up from his brother or sister tapping him thinking that's funny. He's so cute!

P.S. Those huge big hands in the corner do not come from me...thank goodness.

    St. Patty's and Distinguished Dragon

Happy St. Patrick's Day! We celebrated by making a leprachaun trap (for school). The kids were very serious about this. They wanted to make sure he would be okay...not squished too much, the stick would still fall when we weren't around, etc. It was great! We also celebrated with our green foods...green milk, green apples, green everything...didn't do green pancakes this year, but other fun stuff. Needless to say, none of us got pinched.

I told them to do a silly face...Kylie doing a sad face as her silly face, Peyton being silly, and Porter doing whatever Peyton does, like always...

    St. Patty's breakfast...

Side note: Who can resist this boy? Gotta love him!

Kylie got chosen for The Distinguished Dragon Award. There is one chosen from each class. She was excited to receive this!

    After receiving her award...

Kylie with her friend, Booker, who also received the award. I am secretly hoping these two get married when they are older...and when Booker passes her up in height. I don't really think Booker is this much smaller than Kylie, it just seems like that in this picture. Oh well, they are great friends now. On the side...Kylie's future sister-in-law, Maizie. :) So cute! :)

    Crazy hair

It was crazy hair day at school the other day. Not sure which was crazier...her hair ready for the day...or when we took it out. :)

Peyton took this picture...I love Kylie's pose with her hair. :)

    Peyton's Field Trip

Peyton's preschool class went on a field trip to the Las Vegas Natural History Museum. It was full of animals, dinosaurs, and other fun things for the kids to see. They had a great time.

The boys...Peyton, cool dude Trent, and Jack...

    Learning about the lions...
    Learning about the dinosaurs...

    Silly Porter...

Porter, a part of the fish world...

    Peyton and Jack...

Chris...here is your turtle that you want. Instead of us having one, you can visit it at the museum. :)

Us having our picnic. Lovin' the string cheese...

On another note...Porter loves the ladies. He's already taking Avery on a motorcycle ride...
    :)

    SLCC Alumni Weekend

This past weekend was my college basketball alumni weekend. I worked things out and was able to go...all the way from Las Vegas. Thank you friends, Hilary Armstrong, Kiki Comin, Becky Warburton, and especially Chris for watching my kids for me. Thank you, thank you! I was able to enjoy myself and not have to run in every direction chasing most likely Porter and having to entertain Peyton. Kylie would have been too interested in the cheerleaders, so let's just wait and get her excited for the ball players. :)

Anyways, it was a blast. First off was the alumni game. Not many of my years played...you suckers! So, I played with ones fresh from graduation. It was fun...but let's be honest. I'm glad I am on my other phase of life. I enjoyed playing ball, but also enjoy my kids and family. Playing again was fun and brought back several memories.

The best part of the weekend...seeing everyone! It was great to see friends after 8 or so years, seeing them as mom's, and seeing where we all are at in our lives...mom's, mom-to-be's, wives, OBGYN doc (still amazed, Brookie!), Pharmacist (still sounds boring, T, jk), coaches, etc. Love it all! I loved every minute with you guys. Now, let's get this annual weekend figured out! :)

Yep, you know it...I'm hot stuff!
    Girl, I don't think so!
You got nothin' on me, Heather! :)
Good ol Applebee's has my photo up in a couple of their restaurants. I'm cool! And I'm even cooler that I get my picture taken by my picture. ;)

Alumni who played in the game...

Being honored at halftime...(seriously, what the heck was going on???!)

This, right here, made the drive and trip all worth it!

    Love you girls!

Freshman picture, all over again...missed you Haley!
Have to admit...we have the best year. 01-03, baby! :)
