Kylie's Swimming Lessons

Kylie took her very first swimming lessons. She loved them! It was only a couple weeks, but worth it. By the last lesson, she went under the water like 20 times or more by herself, and loved it. Before she didn't even like putting her face or mouth in the water. Kylie was a bouncy "Tigger" during lessons. All she wanted to do was jump up and down when they were waiting. She did great!

Peyton felt really bad he didn't get to have swimming lessons. "Me, too, me, too!" he kept saying over and over. But he ended up finding things to do like laying on the ground and getting dirty, chasing a bird or squirrel, pushing the buttons with no money on the vending machines, and anxiously waiting for Kylie to be done so we all could go straight over to our friends swimming pool and all could swim. :) Peyton's hair looks green in this picture because we are standing under a green umbrella. Not the chlorine. :)

Memory Tag

Here are the rules:

1. Add a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember!

2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty funny to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you. If you don't want to play on your blog, or if you don't have a blog, I'll leave my memory of you in my comments. I can't wait to see what people remember.

Trip to California!

Over July 4th weekend, we took a spur of the moment trip to California. It is extremely hot here in Las Vegas, and we wanted to get away, go to the beach, and visit Chris' sister and family who live in Los Angeles. It was a lot of fun. We love how we are so much closer to California than we were in Utah, so it makes a fun weekend getaway!

On July 4th, we went to a local parade with Chris' sister, Jen, and her family.

Then we went to the beach. Oh, how we love the beach. Oh, and you can't forget the walk there. We didn't realize how extremely busy it was on July 4th, duh?! So, we seriously had to walk about 1 1/2 miles, and it seemed forever. That's hard when you have to carry all the stuff and all the kids for the most part.

Kylie and Peyton both loved the water. They wanted to keep going and going. Peyton kept trying to slip out of our hands when we would go deeper and try to go by himself. I held Kylie and took her farther out in the ocean and she liked that. They thought the ocean was great, although they do look a little hesitant in this picture.

Playing in the sand...

Striking poses...

Then we went to the beach, just us, the next day as well.

The kids had so much fun playing with more cousins. It is so nice to get away for a bit again. Thanks Jen for a great time!

Trip to Utah!

So we have taken a couple trips these last couple weeks and I need to update it. A couple weeks ago we went and saw our family in Utah. It is so refreshing to see family and get to be with them for a bit. Kylie and Peyton absolutely loved playing with their cousins and everybody else. We did lots of fun things while there...

We went to the Herriman Splash Park, which was crowded, but actually really fun. The kids had a blast and it was just fun. This was only a couple minutes from when we used to live in Herriman, so it was fun to be back there.

A trip to the Nelson’s wouldn’t be complete without a family outing to an ice cream shop. We went to Arctic Circle (which we actually miss here in Vegas because of their shakes) and everybody got ice cream. It all got eaten up, of course, and fast, too. Peyton’s and cousin Emmy’s cones both fell, but we cheered them up with more ice cream.

We also all went to Wheeler Farm. It’s crazy how none of us had been there living in Murray, but it was great to go there. Kylie kept saying that it smelled! All the grandkids looked so cute following each other. We had a lot of fun feeding the ducks, riding the wagon ride, and seeing all the animals.

Grandpa showing the kids how the tractor works...

Becky, Joe, Liz, and I ran a 5K together. The best part was that it was Liz’s first 5K. It was a really hard course, but we all did really good.

We were also able to see the Dennis family. We went to church with them, played games, swam in their pool, went and saw Kung Fu Panda (which the kids just cared about the popcorn, but actually act out the characters now), hung out, and Kylie even rode Megan’s horse. She loves doing that.
Aunt Megan with Peyton and Kylie and their sunglasses!

Kylie and Peyton with each grandpa...

We had a great time visiting with family and already miss everybody. We can’t forget on the way home…we were making great time so in Cedar City we decided instead of fast food for lunch, we would eat at a sit-down place, Applebee’s. The next thing we know Peyton is pointing to his nose, and I look up and there is the broken tip of the crayon totally stuck up there. Chris took him to the bathroom and tried everything. All I could hear were shrieks. He couldn’t get it, so we decided to drive home. Luckily he fell asleep. When we got back to Vegas we had to go to our doctor who took it out, but what an experience. Silly boy!

Baby #3

Yep! We're pregnant! Baby #3 is on the way. Holy Cow! I'm around 14 weeks along and due December 26th. Great timing, huh?! I'm sure I'll go early with this one...the doctor wants a Christmas, too. We had just told our family, too, after taking a nice needed trip to Utah. Just before that we had gone to the doctor and everything was okay. Peyton says it's a "Baby boy," and Kylie says it's a "Baby girl." Of course.

Things are a little different after a couple babies. I pop out a little sooner than before. With Kylie I didn't start showing till about 5 months (I know, lucky) but I already have a bump and some shorts don't fit. :( This one I was more sick. Still luckily never throwing up, but still nauseous from morning till night. And that gets hard with moving, chasing 2 kids, stress, and everything else. I'm glad to say that it has eased off a bit, thank goodness.

We will keep you updated with all the baby news. We have a long ways to go. 3 kids...excited but very nervous all at once!!!!!

P.S. In the picture the baby is looking down in the far right. It was nice getting a clear picture already and seeing everything formed so soon.

Pedicure Time

So tonight I got my very first pedicure...ever! Can you believe it?! Where have I been? It was much needed and I am definitely going to be getting these more often. What have I been doing? Why haven't I gotten one before? Well, I have now and I can now join the pedicure lovers. :) Maybe next time Chris could come with me. He DEFINITELY needs one! :)
