Leatherby's

So, we haven't had a lot of news lately, but it seems like all of a sudden we have a lot. So, I'll keep updating it often to inform you what we did so it won't come at you all at once. :)

But, we were driving around town the other night and saw the restaurant Leatherby's. We had heard there was one here in Vegas and were REALLY missing Leatherby's from Utah. So, we were excited to eat it up and chow down the ice cream at this place. We walk in there...oh, first, it's a ghetto bright pink building, and we are the ONLY ones in the restaurant. We order our food, and it was good. Chris, the whole time kept saying that he felt like he was in some sort of movie with how old it felt. He said he felt like he was in the 70s--meaning ghetto 70's. Another time he said he was in the movie, "The Birds." We ordered our ice cream and the lady said we couldn't switch anything up on the menu. For example, we couldn't substitute an ice cream flavor in the sundae. We were like, What?! Anyways, we got it and it tasted like freezer burn...because nobody is there to eat the ice cream. So, needless to say we REALLY missed our Utah Leatherby's. Next time we visit home, we are going there for sure and are really going to enjoy our yummy ice cream. But, I love this picture inside the restaurant just because of all the cute smiles. Oh, funny times. But, the picture doesn't do justice to the restaurant's ghetto-ness. :)

That's funny you wrote about Leatherby's because I was just thinking about that place. I love it!!! We always get the huge banana splits. MMMMM....I'm drooling as I'm typing. I'm definitely going this summer!

Funny. I miss Leatherby's and Training Table those were our Utah favorites. In Arizona, no one knows what fry sauce is.

I am laughing at the above comment about fry sauce, which is so true. ha ha I'm sorry your Leatherby's experience wasn't so great... Bummer. You'll just have to load up on the stuff next time you're out here. :o) Isn't it so funny how we miss FOOD so much when we're somewhere else....and then when we're back in Utah, we miss the place we came from. I hope that made sense....ha ha I'm sure Natalie will get what I'm talking about. When I lived in NY, I missed Mexican food.... Now I miss good bagels and ITALIAN food. Oh yeah....and Chinese, too. ha ha

Nice comments by Tiger... ha ha. I used to get the peanut butter something from Leatherby's. Yum! I am not a huge icecream fan, but when we would go there.. I would love it. Fry Sauce is funny. They didn't have it in California and they used to look at you funny when you would ask for it. Now they have it in Washington and Ben is super excited. I do understand what Carrie was talking about.... The food in Spokane SUCKS, but I am looking forward to a few favorites here in just a couple of weeks. :)

Just have to tell you (since I live in Utah!), I went to Leatherbys with some girlfriends during Priesthood session and it was FABULOUS!!! I got the strawberry shortcake (first time for that) and loved it! Aren't you jealous now?!? :)
