This past weekend we were able to go to Dixie high school and see Chris' little brother, Cody, play football with his Springville team against Dixie. Cody does real well and is one of the team captains. It is his senior year and it was fun to be able to see him for one of his games this season. We checked into our hotel (in Mesquite) before the game thinking we had lots of time to spare, then realized the time difference between Vegas and Utah. Woops! So, we hurried and got there a couple minutes after the game started. Chris was ticked, but we made it. :) We were able to see Chris' family there, too. They had to leave that night, but we decided to stay the night in Mesquite. The kids LOVE staying in hotels. It is a real treat for them. It's fun, but not too great of sleeping for Chris and me. I swear we both woke up about 50 times that night. It's different not being in your own bed. We went swimming and out to eat and just had a fun little getaway.
The kids liked playing with their grandma, grandpa, aunt, and uncles. Here is Cody playing.

Let football season begin! :) We don't like staying in hotels either...the bed is always too small compared to our bed at home. But it is fun to get away even if it is just for one night :)
Those are the only getaways we've known for the last little while. :o) I love football season ...and I think it's awesome you guys were able to go down and see your brother in law play. I'm sure he appreciated it....plus, it was probably so much fun to see your inlaws. My kids love hotels, too....and I do, too. :o)
Ok wait!!!! Cody is a SENIOR? Oh my goodness how time flies. I remember taking Cody to the concession stand when my brother was playing baseball and the 4 of diamonds. CRAZY!! I am glad that you got a little get a way though. :)
I love the haircut! I was just thinking of getting mine chopped, too! Fun camping idea. I was going to say we'll have to do that this winter when it's too cold to be outside...but...we don't have our tent here with us. It's in storage in Idaho along with everything else! But that's a fun idea for later! We can still do the smores thing! And fun trip to Mesquite. We love staying in hotels, too!
Your hair is so cute! That's fun you got to get away. We saw the dolphins at the Mirage. I think it was $15 a person but i am not sure what kids are. Compared to other things on the strip that cost about that same amount (aka the eiffel tower) this was well worth it. But at the same time its a little pricey. It was a lot of fun though and you get to see baby tigers too!
